Common questions

Do you do any physical exams?

No, I do not perform any medical procedures (fetal auscultation, blood pressure measurement,...) nor I assume any medical liability (prescription,...).
My role is to provide informational, physical and emotional support. My contribution is complementary to the therapeutic role played by the medical team.

How are your interactions with the medical team?

I can  facilitate communication with the medical team  yet I do not advocate for your choices.
I am  exclusively present for you  and I will stay  with you, according to your wishes and the rules in force  (related to the pandemic) until birth to make sure you are at your best.  Birth takes place in your body so I will encourage you to listen to your body.

How hiring you may affect my partner's role during childbirth?

Depending on your wishes, your partner is included in the  pre-birth follow-up. Your partner is an important actor of support through all stages of your maternity process. I provide you him/her knowledge  to have an active role during this process.

Furthermore, childbirth is an exciting and challenging moment for both mother and partner. Although focused on you, on the day of delivery my attention will also be directed to your partner.

Will hiring you affect my mother, aunt or grand-mother's role during my pregnancy and childbirth?

I complete your private circle of support, I do not replace anyone because I occupy an extra space that you feel the need to fulfill. I have a temporary role of companionship during your childbirth  journey from pregnancy to delivery.
